Now, to set the stage for my review, I’m not a Saturday Night Live fan, but I don’t hate the show either. I’ve seen clips of this show on YouTube, there were stars from this show who went on to bigger things in their careers, and I only watched one episode and that episode was hosted by Sydney Sweeney. Other than that, this is a series that never grabbed my attention and I’m not much of a sketch comedy fan. However, when I heard that Jason Reitman was directing a movie based on the events that took place before the premiere of this series, I naturally decided to try and have some fun with Saturday Night (2024). Positives for Saturday Night Live (2024): This movie was a chaotic roller coaster from start to finish.
Negatives for Saturday Night (2024): The movie is a bit too chaotic for me
This movie has such a wild pace that it demands attention and for the most part it succeeds. The actors do a fantastic job of portraying these 70s people, and while it was a bit confusing to watch some of them play certain people from the show, they all did a great job in their roles. The comedy in this movie is very funny and some of the skits they did made me laugh. And finally, the movie did a fantastic job of making this set look and feel chaotic. There are certain conflicts that feel like they were rushed to resolve without building up properly.
And finally, the movie is so fast that sometimes I couldn’t follow it
Overall, Saturday Night (2024) is a fun experience from start to finish and if you are a fan of this series, I would highly recommend this movie.
